A charity which gives learning disabled actors the opportunity to develop their skills in the Performing Arts. One of the Trustees of Bluebase Foundation assisted Side by Side in identifying and purchasing a redundant church as their permanent home in 2018. Previously, Side by Side were reliant on renting space from third party entities for rehearsals and activities. Side by Side had no certainty looking forwards.

 

The new facility, known as The SideSpace, was comprehensively redecorated and refurbished by Side by Side, providing a permanent base from which to offer their activities. The relocation has resulted in the quantity and range of classes on offer increasing, to the benefit of existing, and many new, participants. The refurbishment costs were funded by a combination of Side by Side’s reserves and grant funding. 

 

Bluebase Foundation has agreed to support Side by Side with the creation of a Reserve/Sinking Fund, sufficient to cover any unforeseen property costs which might arise in the future. The creation of the Fund will allow Side by Side to focus on their daily Performing Arts based activities, enhancing the lives of so many locally.
